It's one of the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean and complete dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in no time.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that mops up a storm and also vacuums well. The mops spin at fast speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.
You could, for instance ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only problem is that the robot is known to smash into walls and objects at a high speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning in the app will tell you precisely what the robot has completed, where it's traveling, and what obstacles it has encountered or avoided.
A handy LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance jobs need to be done, such as emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank, with a 600ml bottle of the eufy's solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time, with the mop capable of operating for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is simple to use and intuitive and lets you see every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. The model this year has a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This increases the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that allows it to remove smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners may miss.
The Roborock model, like the other two models I tested, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it avoid obstacles such as walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and determine whether they are a wall or another type of surface. It can then change its direction automatically and clean the objects without stumbling.
It's the most expensive model I've tried, but it also has the most features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and comes with three physical buttons. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning, a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to send the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin auto-filling.
The only downside I've discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if needed) but it's a challenge to take off the mount for manual washing. I've observed that any carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of intelligent features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can set up and manage these via the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you schedule cleanings and track the battery's life. You'll need to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering the performance otherwise.
3. Dreame X40

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive on the market and comes with many additional features that make it stand out. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub that uses two high-speed mops to scrub floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and it has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can vacuum up pet hair and smaller dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.

Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
